We love how close Grace and Sarah Elizabeth are, but with that closeness comes some challenges.  Mainly, SE wants to do everything Grace does.  Grace is really great about including SE with her friends at school, but we really wanted SE to have something that was hers.  They share a room, they share a school, they share a Sunday school class. 
Sarah Elizabeth started gymnastics last Saurday at the Y. So this was something that was all for Sarah Elizabeth.  She calls it "my-nastics". Grace was an awesome cheerleader.  We had explained that the gymnastics was something for SE to do because Grace has ballet that she does on Mondays.  So Grace watched with us from the sidelines. Sarah Elizabeth kept runing up to us with a big smile after her turn.  We would give her a big thumbs up and send her back to the group.  She kept telling Grace, "you should do this Grace!"

Mimi's birthday

In addition to Princesses on Ice we got to celebrate Linda's birthday in Front Royal with Kathy's family.  The kids helped Kathy put the candles on.  They also helped Linda blow out her candles.  It's always fun to watch the cousins play together.  Ben and Jackson are so sweet to Sarah E. and Grace.  After a short hike the kids drove SE's jeep around for awhile.  Grace did great on the hike, she kept up with Ben and Jackson.  We hung back with Sarah Elizabeth, it was so different to have that time with just her.  Although she kept asking where Grace was, I think she liked having that time with us too.

Disney Princesses on Ice

Grace's birthday present from Chris and I was tickets for all of us, plus Chris' mom and Eric, to go see Princess Wishes in DC.  It was a show chock full of the Disney Princesses skating to their signature songs with their princes. Here are some pics of the girls (and us) at the event.  We had great seats and the girls were on the edge of theirs the whole time.

Too precious to not share....

Overheard by my mom,coming from their bedroom as they woke up one morning.
GRACE: Sarah you said you would let me sleep with you deer, and you didn't!  You broke your promise!
SARAH E: You can, you can sleep with it.  I will put my promise back together.

We picked a package up from the post office that contained SE's birthday present, so I told her I couldn't open it because it was her birthday present and I didn't want her to see it.

SARAH E: Mommy, you can tell me what my birthday present is.

ME: No I can't, it has to be a surprise on your birthday.

SARAH E: I will close my ears and then you can tell me. 

She then puts her hands over her ears and looks expectantly at me.

ME: I mouth the words "birthday present".

SARAH E: Huge smile, takes hands down and runs out of the room SO excited.
