So, it happened, finally.
We had friends come to visit.
Angela and Bryce drove out to the Shore from Raleigh on New Years Eve and stayed through the weekend. We were so glad they came to spend New Year's with us. We watched the Va Tech game on New Year's Eve. Actually our attention was split between the game and ballet performances by Sarah Elizabeth and Grace. Sadly we had to force ourselves to stay up until 12:00 so we could do a New Year's toast. I think that is a testament to "how old" we are getting.
On New Year's Day we had some friends come over and join us for the traditional New Year's Day fare of ham, collards, and black-eyed peas for health, wealth and luck. Angela and Bryce got a personal tour of the farm from Chris and I took them on a driving tour of our area. Angela and I even did a bit of browsing at Monkees on Saturday. Before they left on Saturday we hit Cape Charles for a glimpse of the beach and lunch before they headed back over the Bay Bridge-Tunnel. It was a great weekend, laid back and relaxing. We loved having visitors, and can't wait to have more.
I told Angela that she and Bryce won the awards for:
"First Friends to Visit the Shore" and "First Visitors of 2010"
