With my mom’s health in question we made the decision to head up to CT for Christmas. Jeremy and I drove up with the girls on Wednesday and Chris came up on Friday (Christmas Eve) in Jeremy’s truck.
We had our own little Christmas miracle happen on Wednesday when my mom got a crucial medication approved by the insurance company. They were able to bypass the additional tests that were originally required and that were going to take another few weeks to complete.

We went Christmas Eve services at my parent's church. Grace was very excited to wear her kilt. It was one my grandmother made for my sister and I from our (Scottish) Monro tartan. For dinner we did the Silver tradition of Chinese food on Christmas Eve. The girls helped Mema make "Grandma Yurch's Chocolate Sauce" for some hot fudge sundaes before bed.

The girls went to bed and woke up excited about Santa coming and Jesus’ birthday. Grace’s big gift was her very own digital camera and SE got a Power Wheels Jeep. SE isn’t quite ready to drive solo, so Grace has been helping her out as a chauffer or as a backseat driver. They were really cute rolling around outside on Christmas. They’ll have a blast on the farm with that Jeep. Chris got me a sewing machine (my request). Soon our house will have new curtains and pillow covers and the girls will have new dresses and skirt- at least that’s the plan. I think I'm going to start with a simple table cloth.

We sang “Happy Birthday” to Baby Jesus over some banana bread accompanied by scrambled eggs, Ault sausage and bacon. DELICIOUS!
The rest of the day was laid back and relaxing. Chris prepared and amazing dinner of leg of lamb. I made Chocolate Trifle (Death by Chocolate) for dessert. YUM!
We watched “White Christmas” and afterwards discovered the Northeast was prepping for a major snowstorm to hit on Sunday afternoon. Since the storm was moving up the east coast from the south we couldn’t leave as planned today. Instead we are hunkered down with good food, our Christmas toys and some extra family time, until the snow clears.
