For Sarah Elizabeth's birthday in March we gave her a butterfly habitat. We waited until July to order the caterpillars. When they came we were so excited. It was so cool to watch the caterpillars attach themselves to the top and then watch their cocoons form. We waited patiently until they all emerged. We ended up with 9 of the 10 cocoons hatching out fully formed butterflies. We let them fly around in the net habitat for a few days and we fed them sugar water sprinkled on flowers. After awhile we needed to release them.
