The Robertsons come to Quinby!

Jamie, Monica, Josh, George and Riley came to visit us for a long weekend.  They arrived on Friday afternoon and were here for Sarah Elizabeth's birthday party on Saturday.  They left on Sunday, late morning.  It was a great weekend, too short, but in reality any visit would never be long enough. It was great to see the kids just gel together like no time has passed.  Of course the same can be said for Ca, Jamie, Chris, and I.  We hung out by the fire outside on Friday night and just relaxed, it was good for all of us.
The boys slept in with Grace and Sarah Elizabeth and it went surprisingly well, besides early mornings, they really did just go to sleep.

Josh and George got to meet some of Grace's friends at SE's bday party and after the party they went out on the boat with Phillip, Levin and Benjamin.  Josh, George, and Jamie got to see a bit more of what the shore is about out on the beautiful barrier islands.

Jamie makes a fashion statement after the boat trip.
Jamie and Chris headed out to the back field to shoot some skeet on saturday afternoon.  Josh joined them as the skeet thrower.  He pulled the string to send the skeet into the air.

Monica and I had some time together on Sat. while the big kids and daddies were out on the boat.  Although we talk often on the phone there is nothing like a face to face with your best friend.

The girls in the wagon and the boys using the outdoor "bathroom".

The goodbyes were sad, as always.  It's hard to say good bye to such good friends who know you and your family inside and out and love you for it.
I think when I first moved out here I was looking for another Monica and Jamie type of friendship.  Not to replace them, but to duplicate them here.  I've come to realize that is not going to happen and that is not a bad thing.  They are more like family than friends, and that can't be duplicated!!

Couldn't have said it better. Thanks for cropping the boys bunnies. How funny. I cant wait to see you guys again. And yano...I rest a bunch easier not trying to duplicate your family. I think this visit was so important.
